Hi forum.
There were no replies to my first post so i took a chance on these 3 badges. The only gripe i have is the jr gaunt badge,it bends really easey and the others do not. Would it be possible for some imput plaese on these. Im very unsure on the gaunt aa badge as i have stated it bends really easey. Last edited by jack; 01-09-10 at 04:52 PM. |

It is fine. They were worn up to 1992. The Gaunt London mark is typically 1960s.

As of course it would - you should be very careful with these - if bent the surface will crack into very fine fracture lines and when bent back, may very well crack and fracture completely. Good luck

QOH badges
Hi Jack
Here are a few more pictures to confuse you. First, the Officer's SD Forage Cap badge. I purchased this from the Regimental Quartermaster in Detmold, Germany, in 1982. Second. Officer's SD Cap badge reverse Third.A selection of aa Cap badges acquired at or about the amalgamation in 1958. They are J.R.GAUNT LONDON, J.R.GAUNT B'HAM and H.W.TIMINGS B'HAM Fourth. This is a TIMINGS badge, painted black under Regimental auspices, for wear in Northern Ireland. I hope these help. I have other Officers' emboidered badges and NCOs' Rank Badges if you need them. Best wishes Gordon |

Hi Bob
These gold anodised horses sound a little bit like the collar badges for the 3rd The Kings Own Hussars. They wore silver anodised collar badges with the horse of Hanover on them. For some unknown reason they also were made in gold anodised, whether there was a legitimate reason for it or it was just a factory cock up I am unsure. Maybe other Forum members may know? Hope this helps. Regards UKbrits |

This is the Officers Beret Badge, not sure if this is 1954-57 7th QOH? But I do remember a senior Officer wearing this badge c1992..... he was on Exercise with us on Salisbury Plain...... I remember it specifically, the little hanovarian horse sewn into the embroidered badge, as he was on my vehicle getting some directions
Refreshment on Route Marking duty, start Ex.... c1992-3

" as he was on my vehicle getting some directions"
A Queen's Own Hussar not knowing where he was going? Surely not! Best wishes Gordon |
