Repro AAC Plastic
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/plastic-AA....c100009.m1982
As the seller suggests, it's a modern fake that was most likely made in Holland for the re-enacting community. A good reference photo of what to avoid. |

It seems to be exactly the same as those turned out (and clearly sold as repros) by a Dutch dealer some years ago. I would suggest that the seller knows exactly what it is but just doesn't want to use the "repro" word for fear of lowering his chances of selling it.
However, there is already one bid of £10.00! Roger |

The lugs are a bit of a give away along with the poor quality of the back. Jon iirc had a repro plastic badge a while back in a box, maybe he can weigh in?

Old f*rts like me remember the days when it was said "oh, they can't fake the plastic badges". Shouldn't fool the experienced, but just wait a few years and we will have people arguing that they are real...

Thanks for posting - how ironic - there was a time you couldn't give even the rarest WW2 economy badges away ... and now they are faked

Thes badges are made of a very hard type of resin, painted silver as it is yellow originally.
