Default Middlesex Regt; Officers Bronze with Lugs?

Picked this up at the weekend (in order to get some buttons I needed, so it will be moved on at some point (Via the forum... I'd rather it go to you guys).

I think it's a Bronze officers badge, but I thought they all had blades, not lugs?

Anyone care to hazard an opinion on officers or some unusual OR's badge?

Best,
Thomas

It’s an officers service dress (OSD) bronze collar badge, Thomas. Blades for headdress, loops and cotter pins for collars.

OSD collar badges were notoriously large, frequently being modelled on the cap badge. In some regiments/battalions though the OSD collar badge was smaller and sometimes even worn in caps as an alternative to the cap badge decreed.
