Default Help identifying chindit patch

Hi
This is all fairly new new to me . I am looking for some advice with regard to a purchase on ebay. From what little i know, i know they are not world war 2 era patches, so what exactly are they? Blazer patches for reunions perhaps? The seller told me her husband was in the kings own border reg and this was either bought or given as a gift to him while he was stationed in cyprus.
I know its not a rarity or war time patches but i liked it all the same and thought the frame would look cool hung somewhere. I'd just like to satisfy my curiosity about what the patches actually are, blazer badges? Reunion patches for ex members? Or something else entirely?
I havent recieved it yet but is purchased, so will have to make do with either the link or item number and the photos therein

Many thanks for any help that may be offered

Hi George,

it's difficult to say without a better quality image and of course a pic of the back but at a glance these patches look quite modern to me.

Cheerio,
Roy

Thanks roy, and yes id agree that they are modern, but what would be the purpose of them? For collectors? Re enactors? Reunions? thats what i cant quite understand.

Also roy, not sure if you are aware but none of the links to your chindit albums appear to work

Hi George,

My Chindit collection sold man moons ago, so the album doesn't exist any more.

As these are modern, my assumption would be they are either fake (at worst) or reproductions (at best), as I suspect few Chindit veterans are around today.

I have owned genuine blazer badges before but they clearly had a lot of age to them, so would believe these to be genuine veterans association blazer patches, in fact I think I still have one kicking around.

Cheerio,
Roy

In my opinion both Chindit badges look like they were made yesterday.

I agree, it cost literally nothing and i liked it well enough. I said in the first post i know they are not war era or rare. I just couldnt understand why anybody would make a repro that was so completely different to what youd expect from a chindit patch. It all seems a bit odd.
