Default 10th Royal Hussars - opinions welcome

Gents, opinions welcome on this 10 RH cap badge. Initially looked to have some age due to patina, however it appears to have a recent Regimental number stamped on the slider 22820997 (8 digit). I thought at first it may be a WW1 contemporary badge with number stamped like we sometimes find, but believe its something much later now.

Any thoughts?

Well 10th Royal Hussars were merged in 1969, so presumably contemporary to 1960's?

My first 4 was, 2470 issued Sept 1984

That 22** number is post war circa 1950s but of course the badge could be much older.

October, 1950 22199409 to 23188252 in October, 1955

23** numbers are from early 1960s

I was 241* in 1969

In the hand, the badge definately appears to have some age - I'd even say WW1 (although I'm no expert). Possibly, 1950's soldier wearing his Grandads cap badge?
