A very interesting thread mine are both broached and appear to be 1915 Patten badge on the right much thicker construction possible nickel silver can not find a hall mark any where.

Would appreciate comments on the pair date range to put them into.

Default Tyneside Scottish Cadets

Thought I’d add this since it does relate loosely to the 2nd pattern badge which kicked off this thread.

This 2016 BBC article on the Tyneside Scottish Cadets contains a useful close up of the badge they use.

Interestingly it is the fake die, evident from the lions tail and letter spacing on the tablet as per the badge on the yellow background. An angry ferret on the green background for reference and comparison.

This badge and flash was given to me by a soldier of the 204 (Tyneside Scottish) Battery part of 101 (Northumbrian) Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers) while I was serving in BATUS Canada,
I keep it as a 'fake but worn' badge, as I do with a few of PRI bought badges from other Regiments, and include them within my collection.
Great thread this.
Chris

That is the angry ferret die so is technically a true restrike rather than fake.

So you have a ‘genuine restrike’.

Clearly in that time they’ve changed where/who they source these from…

Doubtless in online age the QM goes on eBay or Etsy to hunt the best deal for stock required.

'Genuine restrikes' I like that, I think I've heard you use that term before Luke, I'm going to pinch that.

Default Worth fettling?

This badge came in the post today, bought off ebay, cheap enough to take a chance.
I think it looks OK.
If it is I'll make a new pin for it and bend the receiving end back into shape.
Using a 1.5 mm stainless steel TIG welding rod.
Thanks for any comments Tony.

Nice job on the replacement pin Tony.

Would it be possible to get an oblique picture of the loops please Neil?

Here is yet another fixing variant, short D-lugs.
