Default Royal Lancers nickel and enamel motto

Saw this on eBay as an other ranks beret badge. Pretty sure it is a dud or am I wrong?.

Not a seller I'd been keen to buy from. Have had to go via paypal for refunds on a couple of occasions.

Well the badge shown is the cap badge not the beret badge.
The beret badge has a cloth backing and the Motto part in metal.

It looks like Royal Lancers - Other Ranks No1 Dress Cap Badge Finish Nickel Low Bake Pattern No 002568 Dated 30/05/19 NSN 8455-99-843-1127

For comparison here is my example which was obtained in the issue packet.

Badges ordered through MOD contracts after 2012 should NOT show manufacturers details on the badge or the packaging.

Many thanks Mick, Tim, Mike and John. I greatly appreciate your help. I hadn't realised they also have a metal cap badge.
Warm regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

I’ll post pics of my RL badges when I get home (currently driving home from Brisbane to Sydney).

Here's my RL collection. I think I'm only missing an officer's pouch badge.

Default RL

Yes
there is a collar with the normal queens Crown. Two types of pouch badge gold and a silver one. Also, the very first initial issue red backed badge made for the amalgamation parade.

Best Mac

Default Royal Lancer - Collars 1st pat.

Hi Mac

Quite right, but there were also Soldiers & Officers(Gilt Crowns) 1st Pat. Collars.
please see attached images.

I think I have images of both these in wear somewhere in a journal. So not prototypes.

Hope this of interest to others.

Cheers
Rob
