Commando Fighting Knife badge
Hi a bit different from the usual copies the lug appears to have been made from flattened material (similarily seen on LRDG) and one as normally seen no feet!
The badge rear has intrigued me enough to acquire it? Appreciate your thoughts the flattened lug seems to be a replacement, badge is solid, all the best billy |

The SS and dagger is a post war design made for old comrades and was not worn in WW2.

The SS and dagger was worn by officers in WW2, there are lots of images in the CVA galleries and plenty of attributed examples around. Sadly this looks like all the other common fakes I'm afraid.

Belly is correct.
The (lone) dagger was Other Ranks and the SS/Dagger was an officers badge. Although original wartime examples are truly rare (had example of both which were 100% correct). This one, as pointed out is not of the common fake type, however I still do not think it's a strong contender for an original WWII example. For interest, here is a link to a correct handmade officers example I have owned/sold: https://www.fsknife.com/201-10 Cheers, Roy

Sorry I should have been clearer and said they were worn by officers of 2 Cdo. A few examples:

Paul has really answered the question. There are various constructions said to be Officer types - the wartime pattern you want for Officer quality is really of the standard illustrated below - it is the ONLY construction quality I have seen on attributed WW2 OFFICER berets - and is similar to those in both images linked by Paul (Belly)
