Rhodesian Medal Ribbons and Ribbon Emblems - "Holhausen and Munday Project".
Probably posting in the wrong place, but here goes.
I've had this "set" of Rhodesian medal ribbons and ribbon emblems for some years, I planned on mounting the ribbons in order (by slotting the ribbons through slits in the backing card rather than pinning or gluing) along with the emblems. It looks like these were compiled for a collector's group by Keith Holhausen and Peter Munday? From what I can remember I think I worked out that there are one or two emblems that would be required to complete the set. Can any of the experts on such matters tell me what they would be please? I'd like to get any emblems or ribbons that I need to complete a display. I haven't opened the pouches of ribbons as I didn't want to risk getting them out of order but will quite happily post images of them all if anyone has an interest. |

I am attaching pics of my collection which may help you see what others you need. The collection shows two variations of each ribbon as they changed over the years.

Thank you, I need to get to a desk top to sit and work through the ribbons and charts etc.
Do you know of a source for any emblems or ribbons that I may find I'm missing? |

Try this place, although they seem a tad expensive. I have had mine since the 1980s.

Thank you. I had expected there to be a source of copy emblems and ribbons, I may cough up if I need one or two emblems or ribbons.
Obviously I'd prefer original items but had expected them to be thin on the ground. For all I know my little collection may be copies any way. It's just time that I did something with them rather than leave them tucked away in a drawer. |

Put some photos of them up here or send them to me and I'll tell you're whether they're dinkum.
It will be the last nice thing I'll do for 2018 and maybe 2019. |

Thank you - the only Rhodesian items I have are these medal ribbons and emblems which may or may not be later copies and a few common items; 3 General Service medals and 2 formation signs which I've always taken to be genuine.
I'll scan and post images of the ribbons and other items. |

My Rhodesian "collection" in its entirety - the medal ribbons and emblems and these few bits.
(I can't remember if the chevron is Rhodesian or South African). The General Service Medals are named to a TPR and to an Internal Affairs VDT, the Prison Service medal to a WDR. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 20-12-18 at 12:11 PM. |

All good except the RhSAS wing for the 'Greens' is a well known fake.

Thanks for that, in the event it assists in dating the introduction of the fake wings on to the market this pair were produced pre-1989 (which is when I coughed up £2 for them along with a few pairs genuine British wings).

Rhodesian items were some of the most faked.
