Default Unknown Badge May Be Welsh

I think this could be a shoulder badge for an officer . Not to sure ?

Spencer it is a O.S.D collar badge for the Royal Welsh/Welch Fusiliers.

The badge appears to be convered in dried polish, I wonder why someone would do that to a bronze badge ?

Believe it or not there are people out there who can not tell bronze from brass
i have seen this done to many bronze badges.

If they're Dragons, they're a Regular Officer's collar badges. The Volunteer Bns had Griffins isntead... That little error cost my brother some extra Orderly Officer duties when he joined the 1st Bn in 1977!

The No 1 Dress/Mess Dress dogs were gold bullion with silver Dragons.
