This sounds like the American Army 1946 - 1950. You might want to read This kind Of War by T.R. Rehrenbach to see how it turned out. Pray they never find out what "harsh treatment" really looks like. The only law on the battlefield is the law of the jungle. To fail to prepare soldiers for this reality is criminal.

Exactly! He also said that on their recent tours of Afghanistan there were certain ones they had to leave behind at barracks in the UK as they were so dopey they couldn't be trusted with live ammo anywhere near their own troops!

If I have offended anyone by referring to them as an Englishman please remember that I am an American, and we can't tell an Englishman from a Swede or a Frenchman until they speak, and sometimes not even then.
Peter. Being an 'American' is a great advantage, is that North American, South American, Central American, Native American . . . . etc etc. The attached should throw some light on the British, English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish conundrum found so difficult for 'Americans' to understand! I had to play this several times to understand it myself! As for Swedes . . . .

Actually 'fishing' is probably a good term for what the dodgy dealers do, hang a genuine item on a line, reel you in & then sell you all the junk he has already hauled out the river!!

Since I use my real name, I take great offence to your comment. Are you a fishist?

Were they led by Benito 'Mussel'ini?

He didn't mention Benito 'Mussel'ini but he did talk about a Rick von Stein.
