Bearing in mind the odd choice of colours for a rifles unit it may well be something made up for collectors.

i did think that that was a strong possibility.
I had 2 thoughts on possibilities, the Queens Royal Rifles or Queen Victoria`s Rifles. But im sure either of those two qould have used the standard cloth title for the regiment at that time. |

It could be a Canadian Queens Own Rifles chopped to Rifles then the ACF added below

Shoulder Title
Good day Mike,
Shoulder title in link in OP is unlikely an Canadian QOR title cut down. QOR title was only one line curved up, reading "Queen's Own Riles", about 17-20mm in width; therefore not enough room to have anything added beneath. Hope this helps, good luck in further research. Ian

I suspect it might have been intended for the Buckinghamshire (The Rifles) Army Cadet Force who trace historic affiliations through the Buckinghamshire Battalion and/or the King’ Royal Rifle Corps and Royal Green Jackets successors hence the red on rifle green colours?

I had this brassard a while ago. So presumably worn by units in the greater london south west sector who were badged Rifles. regards, Andrew.

So a one piece title intended, as I meant in my suggestion, for a RIFLES affiliated ACF detachment but in London and not Buckinghamshire.

I presume it would have to be one that was either QVR or QWR originally. As a footnote, the sector badge can be found in all black on green. |
