It is interesting to note that my 1926 Pattern King's Regt officer's badges (S&G and OSD) that are marked Ludlow are in fact to be dated from 1933. The Ludlow badges copy a Gaunt design but are quite distinctive and I have a SP 7th Bn officers which is not marked but is from an identical die to the Ludlow marked examples - thus only dated to between 1933 - 1938 !
I'll try and get some pictures up later. |

Frank, With the usual apologies for my lack of photographic skills here are S&G (sic) and OSD regular badges marked Ludlow and an all SP (7th Bn) that is surely also Ludlow. I have another Ludlow OSD (with blades) and a few other unmarked ones. The SP one here has lost it's bottom blade.

Thank you. I realise that I have actually pasted in the obverse of the bladed OSD and the reverse of the looped one ! Ah well, you get a bit of diversity !

I don't think that I have ever seen a badge made by this company that I did not like.

Ludlow sweetheart
Got this in my collection. Looks to be a Ludlow officers collar converted to a sweetheart brooch.

Nice! I can see why the anodised aluminium badges weren't received with much enthusiasm when they came out.
