Hi Simon, so it's Indian Army (a mongoose) the information i got was that these belong to a North Staff's man called AW Bird, National level shooter, was in the All Hallows School 'Eight' shooting in the Ashburton at Bisley. After school he joined Army serving in India, continuing to shoot at Bisley. He apparently went on to represent India in the International matches in 1933 with the India Rifle Club. Hopefully that helps, and not known already. Regards Mark
