Default Importing horsehair plumes into Australia

G’day there folks,

A question for all my Australian compatriots, has anyone had any experience/issues bringing helmets with horsehair plumes attached into the country?

Theres a cracking pre 1871 helmet with a horsehair plume I’m looking at acquiring from the UK, and wanted to make sure I’m actually able to import it without catching the ire of the Australian border force for trying to bring a biological material into the country.

All the best,
Alexander

Thanks for the link. I’ll give them a ring today, see if I can get to the bottom of it.

Greetings Ewan.

Possibly a solution to your problem....................but probably not.

I see that you are in Freemantle, I'm going to visit my son in Perth in November,

Obviously still a few months away, but dependent on the answer you receive, if it can be imported into Oz, I can save you the cost of postage and bring it with me.

However, I suspect that you'd like to have possession of it much sooner.

Regards.

Brian.
