When Queen Vic. died, it took the Met. nearly five years to introduce a KC helmet badge and even then it took a further period before that badge became evident on the streets. I'm sure Charles couldn't give a hoot about the fact that his mum's Crown and Cipher were still proudly displayed by the police at his Coronation. In my opinion the MoD and certain regiments are far too "picky" about such things. This thread just illustrates how much cash is wasted on poor quality badge replacements which, in the long run will surely be "binned". Dave. |

On the Firmins part of the video, did anyone else notice the older guy with the younger one pointing at and touching the crown of a large QC RA anodised cap badge, then he points at the corner of the work bench, almost as if he's saying "just chop it off", just my take on it. Chris |

I hope to hell these are just a one off for the coronation. Looks like the crown is balancing on the scroll! Chris |

The crowns on these badges desperately need voiding in my opinion.

Not military but for this year's "swan upping" the new cap and arm badge were used.

The Cenotaph today -
with the royal Cypher's worn on the Shoulder boards there was quite a mix The King wore on each shoulder board a single - EIIR Princess Anne wore on each shoulder board a single - CRIII Prince William and Edward wore both EIIR & CRIII on each shoulder board side by side. has this practice ever been done before???
