Default WW1 (?) NZ Onward Badge, solid crown

I’d like to find out some information on this NZ Onward badge that belonged to my Grandad. It looks like it could come from WW1 but does not look like any of the pictures of similar badges I’ve seen online as it has a solid crown. It’s around 2.5cm by 3.5cm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tara

Hello Tara,
Your badge appears to be World War 2 vintage. The solid crown is not common but could be a maker's variation.
Cheers, John
