Indian wing? Period?
Got this one in lately and am wondering if it is a WW2 Indian wing (44 Abn) or a post WW2 (1947-...) wing. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would say this is a beautiful original example of a WW2 period wing.

Gents, if it helps identify the type of 'official' wings currently worn and produced by the Indian army, see attached. I obtained these at Army HQ on the cantonment at Delhi last summer, where they are manufactured.
Highlighted is the woven type, which illustrates the pattern of stitching on the parachute and parachute cords etc. |

Rule No. 4 -- Never comment on a badge after a bottle of Shiraz!!!
The fuzzy khaki backing threw me I am afraid, I will always bow to the experts opinion. regards

Thanks
Thanks a lot for having me here, happy to learn more about British insignia. And thanks for properly identifying the wing !!! Hope you guys can also help me with my other thread. Myself, I collect worldwide elite forces qualification insignia (sometimes a bit outside elite, but will explain if wanted). I've got a pretty big collection with an ever bigger database of info - all in PDF, so if ever I can assist someone, just drop me a line. Also just saw the message on Indian wings from Bess. I have a nice collection of older and current Indian insignia, if pics are needed, just let me know.
Cheers, Alain |

Alain, I would appreciate your input on the badge in this thread:
https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=73625 I see you are from Koersel, my grandfather was stationed not far from you at Kamp Beverlo with his compagnie universitaire 1906-1907. |

Drink away Simon, both "experts" have been known to make faux pas themselves
