Default New website for Essex related badges

Inspired by the recent excellent work of fellow members Dean and Ivan, I have been working over the last few months on a small website to show headdress badges of Essex military units.

I have started off with Essex Yeomanry (which will likely come as no surprise) plus cadet units in the county. Over time I am aiming to extend to the Infantry and other arms and services, as time permits.

The website is at the following address (note it is just .uk not .co.uk..)

https://www.essexmilitarybadges.uk/

My thanks to the three forum members who helped with the pre-release version and whose feedback was very much appreciated.

One excellent suggestion was to include photos of servicemen in uniform alongside the badges. I have made a start on that but if members have photos that they are happy for me to use I'd be very happy to add them in - please message me if so.

At this stage headdress only but I hope it's of some interest to members.

Brilliant site, well done.

Nice to see a familiar face, Annie the girl with the big cheesy grin was one of my staff at Harlow Ambulance Station many years ago!. She transferred to RAFAux and did her bit in recent wars overseas

Michael.

Excellent work.

I'll be in touch soon and have a chat, I've probably got some images that may be of use for the Infantry section and you are more than welcome to use any pictures of badges that I have that you may not have yet.

If required, I'll try and make them sharper and clearer versions.

Best wishes and regards.

Brian

Well done Michael, a great site. Could I make a suggestion? regarding (extra work for you) could you make a note if the badges came with a slider or lugs, Die cast and/or Die Stamped. Maybe just abbreviations, just a thought.
Regards Terry

Excellent website, one minor correction if I may ? In the cadets section PSSCA is actually Public and Secondary Schools Cadets Association and not Public Schools Secondary Cadets Association as you state.
regards

Thanks chaps.

PL, typo now corrected, thanks for advising. Troops, if there are any more please let me know and I can easily update. You try to get them all but still they seem to slip through!

Terry, a great idea and let me think on how best to achieve. This will certainly need input and support from the forum, I only have single examples for each item and some are images from other collections, so I don’t know all the permutations of fittings, makers etc.
