Default CASF?

Received this sweetheart pin in the mail this week. I liked the crossed Ross rifles so I'm thinking it's ww1 vintage but have no idea of what CASF stands for... any help on this pin thanks Jim A

Hi Jim, CASF is Canadian Active Service Force. That was the designation for the activated units of the army early in the Second World War. This was the name that stuck with the active army even after it was changed to Canadian Army (Active).
Found the dates: "Canadian Active Service Force" (1 Sep 39 to 6 Nov 40) and "The Canadian Army (Active)" (7 Nov 40 to 31 Dec 46)

A very unusual way to cross rifles. I have a Ross by the way & use it for deer hunting, There are still the magazine problems though. I missed a deer last year because of it.
