A pagri is a cloth wrapping worn around a helmet or other form of headwear. Originally it was soaked in water to aid in keeping the head cool in hot climates. Later it became ceremonial.
In order for a regimental badge device to be worn in the pagri, different fittings had to be made to fit to the cloth wrapping. Some are found with pin fixings and others have long shanks (sliders) fitted to the rear, to either pin the badge to the cloth or slide it in behind the folds of the cloth pagri. |
