Default Permission to come aboard, sir?

Hello

I'm TomPC. I've been collecting cap badges for about 20 years but have just started to get back into them after a gap of several years. My son, Charles, is 9 and has just started to take an interest as well.

My main collection is other ranks 1914-1918 (regular) and I am trying to nail down an exact order of precedence to display these in and I am sure I will bore you all with these exciting problems in due course!

I have about 24 more badges to get to complete the set (a few cav of the line, some depts and obscure colonial stuff) and then I need to start replacing poor examples with good ones and weeding out the dodgy stuff!

I will be looking for a bespoke frame of about 6' x 3' in due course!

My secondary collection is HAC (I am ex-) and so anything HACcy brought to my attention would be most welcome.

My top want at the mo is a KK1931 RHA K/C George V so please let me know if you see one!

I look forward to meeting you all here and around the country!

Regards

Tom

Sorry for two dumb questions:

(1) How do I search the forum (so I don't ask questions that have already been asked)

and

(2) How do I add a picture to my profile?

Thanks

Tom

Search is here:
http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/forums/search.php

or the search link near the right end of the navigation bar above.

You add avatar pictures etc in your control panel = 'User CP' at the left end of the navigation bar above.

look for 'edit avatar' link on the left side vertical menu in your control panel.

best to upload one from your computer, some of the forum ones are.. bizarre

Thanks, Mike.

OK - 'Edit Avatar' threw me. I thought that meant spend six months taking the rough cut of James Cameron's latest movie and splicing it into a perfected cinematic version.

(I really should have seen 'Search' on the nav bar tho - duh!)

Thanks

Tom (proudly sporting a rather dusty HAC badge)

Tom PC. I like your avatar. I too once wore a badge like that. Wish I could join you for a beer or two in the Sutling Room.........but from what I gather that has changed somewhat since I last saw it in 1956.

"Zay Zay Zay", John. Well it has changed a fair bit since 1956 but the spirit probably hasn't! I am in Southampton frequently so we can share a pint "in the field". Let's organise via an email.

I will give that idea a few 'Zays' too, getting a bit near being silent ones in my case, but still in there pitching. Am sending you a pm.

Tom, I just spotted your location. you are just 'down the road' fro me and I think we might both know one or two of my favourite watering holes, like the 'Horse and Groom' in Fordingbridge. What an incredible forum this is for catching up with old memories......amazing what the sight of a well remembered badge does to one.
