Yep, so you need two gold ones for a collection but make sure the makers markings are for the era of the unit in question to be absolutely sure you get the right badge for the right unit and also to prove that you like wearing anoraks.

Paddy, Can you confirm the AAC in a/a made by Marples and Beasley B'HAM for me? I cannot seem to find one but have just brought this one from a well known dealer which I do not have a problem with:- "Description: Scarce Officers Army Air Corps Cap Badge white metal made by Marples and Beasley Birmingham. The badge is KK2056"

Did Maples and Beasley still exist in the early 90`s ?
Id have thought that youd be looking for a Firmin ,TKS or London Badge and Button mark.
I read this and looked at mine, the R.Irish badges have a crown that is a lot larger than my gold UDR badge. 5 to 6mm east to west I think, which is quite a lot in badge terms.

As an Agonised Ally collector, Mike, if you really want to enhance your collection, I strongly recommend you shd buy a copy of this excellent and useful book.

Hopefully, like me and all the other guys who already have a copy, you will find, as well as a mine of useful info, a great source of enjoyment and enlightenment.

BTW, Page 32 says 2000!

All the best to all.

Have never come accross a Marples & Beasley 'All Silver' RAOC, but have seen a few J.R. GAUNT LONDON all silver RAOC examples.

Can't remember where I picked up this silver RAOC badge, but it seems to look OK, I think.

Best rgds to all
