Dear all,

I have found this cap badge, that seems to be a war correspondant one. But there is no «*C*» inside. Would it be an early version? Or a aborted one?

A similar badge to that one but having a green backing and a more realistic looking chain circle was issued from 1944 on. They were worn as cap badges by uniformed civilian technicians working with the British Army in Europe after D-Day.
