Sappers and Miners
Hi..Does this early badge of the Sappers and Miners belong to the Indian Army...or is it to an early Sapper & Miners unit of the British Army? Thanks in advance. Tom

Actually its very much like the 1st Bombay Grenadiers helmet/pagri badge that sold on Bosleys last year I think. Flaming Grenade with scroll around and topped by a crown..

According to Ashok it's probably a Sapper NCOs ornament fitted on a square/rectangular brass plate....most certainly Bengal or Madras...

Sappers and Miners
This badge/button is on a trench art matchbox holder that my late father-in-law had. I have been unable to identify it correctly. The shell base it is attached to is dated 1916 I would be grateful for any advice as to the badges origin. Thank you.
