A visit to spec save I think no lug missing missing 3 original fixing present as made Please note not listed as a cap badge as I suspect it is vic H P centre still cheap
Following Luke H post withdrawn S Staffs I knew it was cheap as I am not a dealer not worried about making a profit, but don’t like having my nose rubbed in it

David,

In think you’ve taken my ‘absolute steal’ comment completely the wrong way, no offence was intended at all, rather it was meant as a compliment to your generosity - perhaps ‘excellent bargain’ etc. would’ve been a better wording in hindsight however it’s a phrase I use to mean the latter. Indeed from me highlighting this the badge sold in a matter of minutes. I think it’s a credit to collectors who share their good fortune with fellow collectors instead of demanding a dealers list price. Apologies for any offence caused.

I genuinely cannot see the 3rd lug as the pic is dark and blurry - I don’t doubt you that it’s there but it is (to me) obscured by the darker braze around it in the pic. The lion’s tail is tip is definitely missing so I don’t think I need to go specsavers just yet thanks. The KSOB is a tad overpriced IMO, there is currently an undamaged example on a well known dealers site for £45. Again, no offence is intended just saying what’s out there as I still collect QVC infantry.

Regards,

Luke

I think Victorian/Edwardian made badges still represent very good value for money, they are antiques proper and beautifully manufactured, they should be first upon the list for any novice collector simply because they cannot be copied in a manner that would convince any sensible new collector.

How much you are looking for 5th lancers badge?
