Indeed Jonathan, the format is of a generic type, and only the dedication and the photo changes over time. I would assume he bought them from the regimental suppliers. My example has a photo of the international settlement at Shanghai which is interesting considering they were in Singapore.

I have a similar card from another regiment which like yours is from family to family and not from the Bn commander, though perhaps the sender was in that regiment or had an affiliation to them. It is 1933 from the 2nd Bn the Dorsets.

I took advantage of the time off to carefully remove the collar badges and take some pics of them, they appear to be silver, probably plated rather than solid silver and they have silver colour lugs (N-S) but nice all the same and I think from reading churchill they were made by Jennens & co.
