Jerry,
As a general guide, the early Pembroke Yeo badges had a white metal title scroll. I do not recall ever seeing a fake one of these. The copies seem to be centred on the guilding metal scroll version which was worn later. Photos for guidance...and no dumpy feathers in sight ![]() p.s I did say general rule. there may be copies of the wm scroll version I have not seen yet Last edited by Rockape; 30-10-13 at 10:09 PM. |

Thats a bit of construction work on that Firmin London there Rockape? Bizzare..... why is that Wm. plate behind it.... its an odd thing to do considering the brass plate is braised on?

Gruff,
Yes nothing wrong with the reinforced example they're spot on. I would assume made up on specific instructions. I have now seen another one in a very good framed Pembs Yeo collection in West Wales which I took apart to identify the badges for the owner. There are white metal copies about and they're dangerous because they look good. They even have one on display below the troop standard in Fishguard museum. The tell tail is that they all have a thiner title scroll than the standard issue, it's also slightly longer and is attached with 4 tabs. I'll try and upload it from my phone. Very well made though. I'm trying to get into Tenby museum today as I know they have some Pembs Yeo items. The stuff that was at Scolton manor is no longer on display and Haverfordwest Castle only had a couple of buttons in the county archive collection, which I had to correct the information on. Some good uniform items in Pembroke Castle though. Hwyl fawr, Kevin Last edited by 41st; 31-10-13 at 07:58 AM. |

![]() For those interested in following the progress of the thread, roughly translates as; Are you confident that its good? Why do you think the extra plate will be placed on? The badge is 100% right and very similar in construction to the Officers Pattern! Andy Last edited by 2747andy; 31-10-13 at 12:12 PM. |

Jerry,
at a guess I'd say possibly late WW1 but more likely post war? Andy Last edited by 2747andy; 31-10-13 at 07:42 PM. |

I finally picked up two original Pembroke Yeomanry badges, one the AA version by Firmin I got a while back and more recently an S & G marked P for plated on the reverse.

Hi All
I am looking for examples of the Pembrokeshire Yeomanry NCO Arm badges?.... has anyone got an example in metal or cloth? I have attached an example (both arms) for a worsted wool version? ...... this photo was taken in East Anglia as there is a Norfolk Officer etc at the start of WW1.
