Default Osgoode Hall

Just recieved this badge in the mail today. As it was an expensive badge and I have a 14 day return I'm asking for opinions of the Forum members as to originality.I've never handled one before so need all the help I can get. I'm thinking it's O.K..... thanks Jim

Jim: I drooled all over that one when it was listed; surprised you can't see the saliva stains in your pics. Nice in that it's the large pattern, too.

Jim,
My example has the same reverse detail characteristics as yours - barley visible lettering on the bottom scroll; the word "Training" less distinct; very little detail on the crown; etc. We have the same badge. Either they're both good or both bad.

Doug... I think were both on a winner here... according to reliable sources the large Osgoode Hall hasn't been copied... definiton on the reverse is suppose to be poorly defined as illustrated.... Jim

Just came across this thread. These are the Osgoode's in my collection.

I haven't been into this case in probably 20 years. One of the larger ones has a flat back as I recall, a definite copy or restrike with half the die.

What is also a bad fake/attempt to copy is the shoulder flash, which is even spelled wrong.

cheers,
phil
