Thank you Jonathan
![]() So the DHY version should be around 1 1/2 inches in height..... and I suspect has a scarlet scroll with a gold wire coronet. I also think that there is a worsted wool version as well?

Jonathan
there should be an arm badge similar to this modern version I have shown below. The wool will be thicker giving it a heavier look and probably a bit more raised in relief. So.... white worsted wool on khaki.

Mike, it is smaller than the officers s&g or the Welch AA but I think I it is the smaller version.

Thanks for the lead, stopped collecting Pembroke a few years ago as only badge needed/wanted is the South Africa PIY badge, which I have never seen for sale, it's out there though. Ta Jonathan |

Picked up another Pembroke Yeo, it was sold as a copy but the lines on the crown look very much the same as this S&G example I own.

Some more pics.
I notice from searching threads that the S&G's, probably by Gaunt all have the lines on the crown. Even with the different reverse, I like it

Thanks Malcolm, I know what considered originals look like, the many variants and I also know what the known fakes look like, what I am trying to discover is if anyone has seen the one I showed as a fake.
It is from the gaunt die, matching the original S&G example I showed but I have yet to see it as a fake. I bought it as a copy but the quality and the fact it does not appear to be among the known fakes I have seen intrigues me.

I am afraid that there are a significant number of fake badges made using Gaunt dies or Gaunt designs as the basis. This includes a number of officer badge designs in OR materials.

As Alan says, some Gaunt dies have been re-used. The Artists Rifles OSD Gaunt die is a prime example. About half the WM Artist Rifles you see are from this die, the distinguishing feature is the notch in Minerva’s hair - I’ve mentioned it in several threads. These are all restrikes. The genuine WM NCOs badge is from a different die, looped and rather rare. Your badge IMO is a reproduction.

Thank you both for answering the question. Obviously the Gaunt 70's collectors badges are well known as are the .London badges but I was not familiar with this type of copy.
