Default FOUNDED DURING THE BOER WAR LAPEL BADGE

I have had this pin backed hallmarked silver lapel badge for years.

It consists of a strap bearing "FOUNDED DURING THE BOER WAR NOVEMBER, 1899" surrounding C.F.F. in the centre.

Regretfully, the badge is stored away and I don't have immediate access to it, but other than saying it bears a London hallmark, I cannot make out the date letter in my scan.

Can anyone help identify it??

An identical badge has bee the subject of discussion on The Anglo Boer War site but unfortunately has not been identified there either.

The photo on the ABW forum shows the date letter as capital D, which would be 1939. Perhaps something made for the 40th anniversary of this organisation?

Thank you for your responses Hawthorn and Arthur.

Looking at the example on the ABW Forum, I don't think that is a letter D but an ornate "o" making it 1929. I will have to dig the badge out, when I get a chance, to be certain.
