It's vaguely familiar - some very obscure TA unit or ACF perhaps - but I can't identify it. Mike

I hope you find out as I have had one in my 'Unknowns' for over 2 years. It has been on here a few times as well.

It's certainly familiar. This insignia was used by the British Frei Corps of the German Army in WW2. I'm not inferring that's what this patch is but the insignia is very similar - because the "Lions passant" (leopards in the true heraldic sense) are a familiar British emblem. They are used by most of the royal families of other European countries as well however so they could just as well be Estonian or Danish.

I was sent a picture of one a good few years back suggesting it was 1 Stores Company RAOC (Volunteers)

It was not till later that both Barri Morris and Norman Wolden showed me the correct badges;

1 Stores Company RAOC (V) [descriptions from Barri's black & white book I also obtained at the same time]

Left - Feltham Detachment, A Red rose, Green & Yellow leaves, Green & Yellow peacock, Yellow sword with Green & White wings on a Blue shield. Two Brown bars,
Brown motto on White scroll with Brown border on White rectangle.

Right - Newport Pagnell Detachment, Two Blue lions with Red tongues, eyes & claws with two Blue bars below, with Red and Black border on a Yellow shield.

Both of which still elude me.

But it does go to show that some TAVR patches were of this ilk!
