Good to hear from people who were there on the day. Hopefully you found it worthwhile.

I heard from the people I know who went that in general it was a big waste of time.
No real bargains but I suppose that's a subjective thing. The person who bought the aero plane for a $1000 was ecstatic as was the person who bought the Japanese mountain gun/cannon for $6500. I think the person who bought the WW1 princess Mary Tin for $800 probably was happy. Lol I cant get more than $50 when I sell them. There were a few little gems within lots such as a kings crown WRAAF cloth cap badge within a pile of other nothing items that sold for $40. A nice light horse cap badge in another lot, a ww1 pair to an officer and I heard a buyer from Sydney who bought many uniforms and bits has sold them all already. Someone got themselves a really nice hate belt. This was one of the things I bid on but got blown away Bc Last edited by badgecollector; 20-11-13 at 06:45 AM. |

Interesting as one of the bags i purchased HAD a WAAAF cloth padded hat insignia STOLEN out of it.My self and a few of the dealers I know only saw the one WAAAF badge in a bag lot and i won that lot. and it was or should i say had been in the bag when i looked at it before the auction.
Very interesting in deed. There must have been another one we missed???? |
