The 6 Hussars and 17th Hussars amalgamated on September 16, 1958 to form the Royal Canadian Hussars. The only major Canadian "peacekeeping" deployment before that date was the Suez force in 1956. (Not counting the Korean War). The armoured element of that deployment was the 56 Recce Squadron, which was a composite unit made up from Lord Strathcona's Horse and the RCD's.

Hi Bill
Noticed this entry in my catalogue. Listed as RCAC 1961, 5th Troop. I guess this is what the fellow told me about it and I had forgotten writing it down. Cheers Brian

Thanks Brian. Sounds like a training unit.

Nice accumulation of armlets. These are of note in that they include the regimental titles with the formation patches.

Thanks Bill. I am going to assume that you have a good selection of them as well. Saw a couple of them in Burlington.

I have a few. The SWW armlets are hard to find. The prices they realize on ebay are astronomical. It is difficult to add new pieces to the accumulation.
