Default SAS Wings Question

Hello, I am fairly new to this forum, but I'm interested in modern SAS wings and its variants across the current uniforms.

Attached below are two pictures, (I apologize in advance for the horrid watermarks), one is a 2010 Lt Col with what appears to be SAS wings, and from poking around in this forum some people say it is the SAS officer wings for No.1. The other picture is from 2018 and is the newly appointed CGS for the army doing some inspection in his frock. The wings he has seem to be the SAS other rank wings for No.1, from claims in this forum.

I'm confused as to what the SAS wings for No.1 are since these seem to be conflicting images. If anyone could point out to me what they are that would be fantastic as I am very interested in this topic.

These bullion SAS wings are found on both a red background for Full Dress and on navy blue for No.1 Dress. They can be found with silver wings and gold parachute and gold wings with silver parachute, the former said to be for Other Ranks and the latter for officers. However, like many things in the British Army, it is difficult to find where this distinction is said to come from and it is easy to find exceptions to every rule, such as the CGS wearing what should be ORs wings on his No.1 Dress (but as the CGS he can do what he likes....) often each regiment will devise its own rules, regardless of what the Army Dress Council might have decreed, and equally tailors might use whichever version of the wings they have acquired, especially for rare badges such as bullion SAS wings where few know of any regulations.

Just to furher muddy the waters I attach a photo of a Guards general wearing the gold wing version of the SAS wings on his No.1 Dress in 2016.....

Wow thank you for the information, it is very odd how they skew the regulations a bit.

As these are not issued but privately bought from tailors there are always discrepancies in size and design.
