Default Can someone please identify

Can you please identify this badge. I presume it’s a lancer type regiment as he won an MC and bar in tanks before being KIA. He was previously with the Derbyshire Yeomanry.

Agreed, 9th Lancers but too small for a blazer badge- suspect it's some kind of headdress badge but what headdress I don't know. As a general rule (certainly in my regiment) Officers didn't/don't wear blazer badges - ties and buttons and regimental pattern blazer were fine but blazer badges were considered vulgar and the preserve of the Sgt's Mess !
