In think you have a fake, slider shape looks very modern to me, patina looks modern but above all I would be very dubious of the maker mark.

Putting a mark associated with the "Dixie" and regimental jewelry on a WO issued cap badge smells fishy. I do not know if Sharman got WO contracts in 1916 but I suspect not.

what do others think?

a bit of an amateur on these but the Sharman mark seemed dubious....thnaks for input guys
