Default Rifle brigade advice

Hi, could I please get your opinion with regard to authenticity on this badge?
The strike is detailed and the slider has a small crimp line. My issue is the ‘flaw’ between the bottom of the crown and Waterloo banner.
Thank you very much
Mike

You could perhaps get better, but, it certainly appears original.

The badge itself looks OK, but the 'flaw' looks to me like a re-soldering of the crown to the rest of the badge.

Keith and Frank,
Thank you for your opinions, it means a lot to me.
Keith, you could be right, it does look like a soldering repair. I didn’t think of that.
Thanks again
Mike

I agree with Keith, the badge looks from the reverse as though a repair has been done, the "blueing" could be solder flux that has not been cleaned off.

Thank you Rob and Gerard.
A repaired badge it is. When displayed it does not detract much.
Authenticity is the most important feature though.
My thanks to all who have helped.
Mike
