Default S Lancs (PWV) cap button

I can't seem to find references to this a/a cap button so would be obliged for info - title, time-frame, etc. At present it is without a caption
Thanks

GTB,

In the absence of any other replies, there is a similar button in Ripley "Buttons of the British Army 1855-1970" No.626 on page 57 which is in the Officers Mess Dress Buttons section and is described as " The South Lancashire Regiment silver plume, gilt monogram" and I presume it is the earlier version of the anodised button.

Thanks, Peter.
I had come to the conclusion that button is to the S. Lancashire (PWV). I was misled by a particularly heavyweight buttons dealer who quoted the regiment as Lancashire (PWV). I still need to confirm whether the plume&monogram button is for the cap too. Some regiments do have different designs to their cap buttons. As for mess dress, it is customary for such buttons to be comprised of gilt and silver, as well as mounted.

I have been posting a number of button queries lately; reason being that I have finally decided to inventory my collectables, and have a soft spot for buttons, hence prioritising them.

While on the subject of cap buttons, is there a way to tell the difference between Royal Marines and Royal West Kent? Is the rim on RWK buttons dispensed with for the cap size?
