False - You do not wear insignia on snow overalls, or rank which you wear on your hat.

I thought so, all booty's I've seen from the AWC wear the stuff on their hat...

Snow camo insignia seemed a useless thing to me anyway....

He's been selling fake stuff for years. Just another scam artist.

I know the chap personally, he told me they trialled this only to find that sewing it onto the snow suit makes holes for water to get it in and these were binned.

Well I served in AMF(L) and served in Norway on several occasions and Instructions have specifically stated for years that over garments (water proofs & snow overalls etc) are not to have badges attached for that very reason, it ruins the water proofing, not that snow overals are particuly water proofed to start with, as its a form of lightwaight parachute silk that takes up little storage space when not worn.

The Royal Marine Commando's only wear Flashes on thier Combat Suits, and not on the Parka or any other top layer. Army Commandos are the same.

Ask him to show you the sealed NSN Package, or label on back of badge? Not sure I like the other patches he shows either for that matter. The one embrodered on Desert Camo are false to start with.

Here's an example. He's been listing one of these plus some other fake Rhodesian stuff for ages even though I notified him to say they were fakes.

This PEU patch is quite rare today.

If you get a copy of Soldier magazine you can see the number of companies who make badges to order. They would quite happily sell you something like this for a lot less than the £20 he is asking.

Fantasy badges and a seller with huge mark ups.

I didn't claim he was telling the truth, just a description he told me. I will ask when I see him.
