Military or Heraldic
I have always treated this button as Heraldic but there is always a persistent doubt, especially as button is brass.

I agree that it's definately a Livery button. The coronet is worn but it looks more like a Baron's coronet to me.
Perhaps someone can ID the crest? David PS.....brass isn't that unusual for livery buttons. It might have been gilded originally but sometimes brass was used because when well polished it could give the appearance of "gold". That is maybe why the button is so worn.
