Default Help ID Inns of Court Badge

I have the following badge which is unusual.

My question relates to the badge in the top left-hand corner of the board in Thumbnail 1 (close up photos of front and rear are also attached). The badge is larger than the Inns of Court RC badges and is the same size and design as the Inns of Court VTC badges (i.e. no crown) but the scroll reads Inns of Court OTC.

Can you shed any light on this badge please?

This thread may, but probably won't add to the discussion. I have also turned your photograph around, I hope that this is O.K.

Simon,

thanks for flipping the photograph and the link to the thread.

As stated the badge I have, is similar to the Inns of Court VRC. It is the lack of crown that puzzles me.

Regards

Chris

I've got one the same with long lugs that I got as a cap badge, it's in Churchill as a collar but would expect it to have short lugs so perhaps someone with knowledge on collars may have ideas even if it's a different regiment.

I agree that the long lugs suggests that it is for a cap. If it were a collar, then why no crown - what period would collars be - when did they change from no crown to with crown also from large to small?

Default Afterthought

As an afterthought, if it is a collar then I shall have to look for another, if Keith's are short lugs I shall have to look for a pair.

Long loops on both of mine too. There’s the possibility they could be pouch badges I suppose.
