lead bugle - any idea who wore it ? - British & Commonwealth Military Badge Forum

This bugle seems to be made of lead ( or a lead alloy) as it is quite soft . The obverse is silvered. Cannot find it in any of the usual reference works. It is a bit of a mystery. It came from an oldish collection of mainly British badges, but as there were the odd badges from other counties, it is not necessarily British. It is 48mm wide.
Any suggestions ?

Looks British, as per Rifle Volunteers, but I don't know why it would be in lead.

I suspect that it will be British, certainly looks it.

Thanks for the comments . I think that it probably is British, probably a Rifle Volunteer unit and quite possibly mid to late 1800s. I have some Dutch Rifle unit badges and , although biggish like this badge , they aren't quite the same. The Dutch badges that I have seen are all die struck. This is not to say that the Dutch didnt make lead badges, its just that I have never seen one.
