IS this WW2 badge and beret?

Hello again fellow Brit./Can. military collectors. I recently bought this badge and beret. I think badge is original WW2, but not sure about beret. Could it be private purchase beret? Bought as WW2, but have doubts. Beret has no markings, no leather badge support interior and no grommet vent holes. It is also 3 piece construction.

The whole combination looks like a reproduction to me. Generally Officer's purchase kit will have some sort of label in it as this is an inexpensive form of advertising.

Famous or not, that was simply my assessment and not necessarily gospel. In the end, have a look at some of the publications out there and discover for yourself what you may or may not have. Have fun, you never know what you might unearth.
