Default WW2 Para wings OK or not?

Any thoughts on originality of this newly purchased badge & if possible a value. Bearing in mind one of the lugs is snapped off.

Thanks,

Mark F

Hi, a genuine badge as stated above. In my opinion this pattern of the Parachute Regiment badge was made by J.R. Gaunt and Sons. If you go on the Buywyze website and enter "Parachute" in the search facility you will be able to compare it to two hallmarked silver officer examples made by Gaunt. If you look carefully on the left hand side of the front of the badge you will see three "blobs" which are small die flaws. One is just below the crown where it meets the top of the canopy and the other two are below it, one above the other between the small feathers and the canopy ropes.

Is the early British PAra version with the nickle plated brass worth more?
