Hoot, You do not owe me an apology. I value all input and yours was very kind and politely done, so there was no offense. And, I never consider myself an expert, so you could have been very right that some pipers may have worn that badge too. And I also agree it does look like many piper's badges I am aware of!
Jon, I believe that is a 32SR badge as well. Let me know if you wnat to let it go. Tony, can't say what that is on the cadets nose, might be some kind of bandage??? I was more focused on the badges! This has been a very worthwhile thread for me and I personally have learned a lot, so thank you to everyone!!! Terry |

Hi Terry
Thanks for the reply Sir. It’s currently part of my Royal Signals collection of which I’m slowly getting used to the idea of moving on. S If I do my friend I’ll let you know. Best wishes Jon |

I was looking for the first thread linked here, the one re. Lt Col Culley's badge, as I opened the other threads re 32 Sigs I thought I might as well post them here:

32 signal regiment badges
Dear Terry and Jon.
The badge you have kindly put on this thread is the current Royal Corps of Signals Pipe Band badge Jon. Yes Terry the whole of the signalsbadges.co.uk web site is my badges collection except where I have explicitly pointed out that the badge shown is from someone who has allowed me to use a photo of a badge from their collection. collection. Perhaps Alan O can advise me has 32 Scottish Signal Regiment (V) now completely done away with berets in favor of the ToS. I thought I had heard this some time ago but am not sure if it is true. Perhapds someone on the Forum could advise me. Best wishes Chris Walker |

The (V) title has gone as it has for all Signals Reserve Regiments. It has been a few years since I went to 32 but around 2010 they dropped the berets in working dress and adopted the ToS instead. Seems to be the same roday. https://www.army.mod.uk/who-we-are/c...gnal-regiment/ Alan |

32 signals regiment
Dear Alan.
Thanks for the info regarding the beret no longer being worn in working dress. I was not aware that the prefix (V) had now gone from Signal Regiments. Nice to find new things now and again. Best wishes Chris Walker |

I think they went in 2015 when the Army 2020 restructure was introduced. The Signals structures were out of date before the changes were made and were not sustainable. The Reserves at the time were being paired to the Regular Regiments to reinforce them. Plan was pie in the sky and soon changed so the Reserves are now focused on UK ops again. Alan |
