Not an expert, but there are a few things that pop out to me, and they may be as is supposed ot be. But the letter "HIRE" appear larger than any of he other letters. and the bird seems ot have a very large eye. Again, that may be correct, but would make me doubt it.

I don't know if an OK version. I don't like the paint chipping off the slider and the odd seeding.
I only have 2 maker marked examples. I'm also comfortable with a flat badge that may be a WWII type as is came on a FS cap with a BUX Home Guard greatcoat. Bucks Bn badges are hard to call. Regards, Paul.

It is a pig of badge. I would avoid such a badly cut die.

It’s not from the Marsh fake die.

Nor is it a product of the Narborough, Woodward or Ludlow dies.

An ex-forum member and well known eBay dealer currently has for sale an example from this die with an ‘extruded’ slider: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394311438...mis&media=COPY

Re the badge in the OP the paint on the slider looks different in tone and texture to the remaining finish on the badge.

Do not waste £35 on a badge when this dealer (I have no correction to either) is selling them at less than a third of the price.

The one linked to with the hole in the slider is the type I once had, issued to a Home Guard member. Regards, Paul.
