what so special about this button being sold on ebay at the moment. I guess its rare.

They are not extremely rare, but sought after by a wide range of collectors.

Have only just acquired one but in w/m this one appears as brass? So are both correct? Would think there are still a few around still, all the best billy

Default Brass YCV Button.

Brass YCV buttons are also correct, but are from their pre 14th Battalion days. I believe the 14th (YCV) Bn RIR wore brass general service buttons.

Hello

As btns said, these buttons are not that rare, often appearing on ebay and elsewhere. They do always seem to go for relatively high prices though.

There does seem to be something about Irish buttons that attracts collectors and thus premium prices!
