Andy, when you say "rounded front ends", I am not sure what you are referring to. I did a google search and looked at quite a few but wasn't able to figure out what you are referring to. Thanks,

Terry

Awful, a look at the reverse suggests it can only be of recent manufacture, certainly post dating the period of time that the regiment was actually extant, originals are common, my thoughts would be to seek a refund.

The edge of each letter, on the majority of good badges is square ended. Have a look in someones album and check the lettering out, look how sharpe it is.

Here you are good and bad, a very old Photo, sorry about the light but shows up the way lettering has rounded ends for the bad and Squared ends for the good. These obtained before I found the Forum and will learn myself form posting these, the Feathers always get me confused, hopefully I will have some good in these?

Top left Officers Economy which has the squared off ends so a good sign! Feathers are also good.
Top right Silver (supposedly) with rounded ends so bad! Being a sign of a copy. Feathers different central crease? which I think is a sign for a copy also? because of the font?
Bottom left squared off ends and also braze holes to rear, but has that crease in the feathers? So could be good or bad, will learn for sure once posted and have the Forums thoughts on these?
Bottom right sorry can't help poor shot taken years ago see squared ends and rounded? but could be the blurriness? Rear slider has crimp mark but don't like rear colouring and lack of brazing holes, feathers have that central crease?

All the best for the New Year everyone!
