RCN Officars hat ...WW1?
I recently acquired this senior officers cap. I need the Naval guys to confirm the era . From the look of the hat, I would say possibly WW1. I believe it to be older than WW2 . Is there any way to tell?

I would agree, WW2 looking at the cap badge and the size of the top of the cap

Both the cap bages & caps were smaller in the pre Great war & Great war period. I have illustrated a Great war period officer's cap badge, first post, in this thread:
http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ead.php?t=9186 The cap you have illustrated Dwayne shows much age wear & this would be typical of an officer who had a fair am't of sea time during the war & perhaps even after it. Worn with pride for certain & a nice example! Bryan |
